WORK IN PROGRESS
The Scouts wear a navy Sea Scout jumper with Sea Scouts embroidered in an arc on the front along with a necker. Our Sea Scouts also wear a Royal Navy Class II British Sailors (Pork Pie) Tally Hat with a Sea Scouts Tally Band.
Wearing a uniform is comfy and practical. It means you can run around and get messy without ruining your other clothes. It makes you feel part of a team. It means no one feels uncomfortable or left out. And it gives you a place to show off all the badges you earn!
Uniforms are available from the Butcher's Coppice shop or directly from the Scout Group. The group is Royal Navy Recognised and are able to purchase directly from Navy suppliers so we can provide these items at a close to cost price. Please contact a leader regarding hats and jumpers.
Being an Explorer will give you the opportunity to spread your wings a little wider and climb a little higher. Between the ages of 14 and 18, you’re fast approaching adulthood, and you’ll be treated as such. You’ll make more decisions. You’ll travel. And you’ll conquer the trickiest of expeditions.
Explorer Units are run at a District level, covering wider ground than Scout Troops. As a result, it’s not uncommon for some Explorers to travel a little further to meetings, depending on what’s available in their area.
Some things won’t change when you move. Your shirt might change colour, but you’ll still earn badges and awards. And you’ll still run around and get your hands dirty once in a while, because having fun doesn’t stop just because you’re a little older and wiser.
